While curating my Padlet, I was looking for resources that would cover my wide variety of interests and teaching areas, as well as resources that would further my knowledge of pedagogy, ICTs and the students I will teach.
Curated Padlet available here.
The resource I will be investigating more closely is the 'ways of opening a story' lesson pack retrieved from Twinkl. I chose this resource as the Year 10 students I will be teaching are about to start their Music Video unit, which will end with the students creating and submitting their own music video about their lives.
The main focuses of the unit are the components of music video creation, specifically the considerations made regarding narrative, interpretation and story flow.
For my lesson sequence, I will use this resource to direct students through background knowledge of narrative, interpretation and story flow they will need for their assessment, before commencing activities for constructing their own narratives for a music video (not necessarily the one they will use for their assessment task). This will include learning how to structure a story, introduce and develop characters in a short space of time, and create opening and closing concepts that will hook their audience and leave the audience understanding what the concept was.
